  • Hi...from Canada

Sitting here after reading so many hellos I am trying not to sound like everyone else which is hard because I read something that reminds me of myself in each one. It's reassuring to know I am not alone in my struggles with weight. I was going to start in the new year but as I plan to make this a lifestyle, I want to start tomorrow. I will just deal with Christmas and days with the family by preparing ahead and I am sure they will have food that is induction friendly if I ask them to. I don't want to be one of those people who join and post hi and you never see them again. I want the support and be able to give support as I learn and lose weight. I am almost done the book and very excited about this journey. The before and after pictures give me such hope!! I want that, I want a after.
I look forward to getting acquainted with everyone here.
    Thanks
    Niki

Welcome to the Atkins Board Niki.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. If you can’t find a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) locally check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

A few more tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot. Also, start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/

To make sure you don’t become bored by eating the same thing over and over look at these wonderful recipe sites – we have such great choices for menu ideas, eat a variety of things:
