  • Saying hi

    Hi everyone,

I recently posted in the OWL section and it was suggested that I introduce myself here, so here goes...

This is my 3rd time on Atkins and the first time it ever actually stuck. It's been a year now and I had great results for the first few months. Then I got complacent and started overindulging in "legal" foods, which resulted in me putting some of the weight back on. I found this board because I was looking for suggestions about how to get back on track, and it seems like I've found the right place. It sounds strange but the reality smacked me between the eyes a few weeks ago - this is going to be a lifelong effort. Wow. I'm still struggling to wrap my head around that, although most people would think it was simply stating the obvious! But I grew up being very slim and athletic, and am still quite athletic - Turns out it's just not enough. I'm 34 and know I need to get this under control NOW. As for stats, I started Atkins last year at a very uncomfortable size 13, was down to a 9 by the summer, and am now back to an 11. Time to go back to the old ways!!

    Thanks for reading!

Hi and welcome back to Atkins Bethany --

Whatever you did before, or what you read other people are doing is the past. Your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - following the plan the way it's written will give you’re the results you’re looking for. Look around and find something that interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it (or are reading it), it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase – check www.half.com or www.amazon.com. Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin – these are mandatory when following Atkins.

Check this page for answers to a lot of your questions: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Hello!
          Welcome back!!
It's easy to over indulge... I'm sooo guilty of that.
I have learned the hard way that this is definitely something I'll have to work on for the rest of my life. I'd be great if we could lose weight and just be done with it but noooooo.. we have to keep eating right and exercising, and staying focused... sigh.
I've come to terms with it though. lol.
Started Atkins on December 8th, 2005

          Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

          Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

          so:
          Restart Progress:
          12/28/09 ~ 235.1
          01/04/10 ~ 229.0
          01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
(Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
          01/18/10 ~ 227.4
          01/5/10 ~ 226.8
          02/01/10 ~ 222.6
