Hello, I have just joined the group today. I will be honest I will not start following Atkins till the 26th. Need to get past Christmas first. I hoping to find support and to give support. I am also taking lots of medication that is very expensive and looking forward to losing the weight and getting rid of the meds. I want to help be supportive to everyone too. Wish me luck!

              Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. If you can’t find a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) locally check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

A few more tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot. Also, start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/

To make sure you don’t become bored by eating the same thing over and over look at these wonderful recipe sites – we have such great choices for menu ideas, eat a variety of things:

Thank you to all that have sent me notes of support. I can not tell you what it means to me. I have started phase one and I am very excited. I quit smoking about three years ago and have the same optimistic feeling now. Thanks again!

It seems a natural progression for many of us....stop smoking - get that under control...then work on getting rid of our weight. You'll do great!

How are things for you so far? If you're hungry remember, eat! When I first started I would take chicken or steak and dunk it in mayonaisse when I was hungry, it only took a couple bites and I was ok...also, don't forget to drink plenty of pure water...it's really important.

                  Good luck.
