Hi there, my name is Kay, and I am a mommy to two little ones. I am a sahm who has divulged just a little too much in food over the last year, and not been disciplined enough. I am now 33 years old and realizing what a slower metabolism means.
I remember the days of not eating for the day to fit into my best jeans for a night out that night and well, that's not only impractical now, but unfeasible and just not smart. I want to learn better eating habits at the same time as trimming off a few pounds. I've never weighed this much before!

I am not 'fat' or overweight. In fact, my BMI is right on. But I know my body and my comfort area, for my bone structure, I am larger than I've ever been. I am 5 ft 4 and a small frame... I currently weigh 131 lbs. I am looking to get anywhere from 115-120 again. But most importantly, not what the scale reads but how I feel, how I am eating and how I look.
I look forward to starting this adventure. Today is day 1.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to ADBB!

I hope you have read the book -- Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002). I'd also recommend you to read Atkins for Life.

      Thank you for the welcome!

Yes, I have read the book and have researched different methods of weight loss/maintenance for quite some time before deciding. I felt this one fit my goals and lifestyle best. Thank you so much!

        Re: New

        Hi and welcome!

Since you don't have much weight to loose, once you get through your 2 week induction move on to OWL (ongoing weight loss) -- you'll start adding food groups back in a specific order which will help you continue to loose weight but find which foods you will be able to eat an which ones you should avoid.

Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html . If you need anything we’re here to help you!!

        Good luck to you!
        Carole

You and I are basically in the same position except that I am 57 years old, 5' 3" tall with a small frame so at 134 lbs I feel very uncomfortable and out of sorts. I am also looking to get between 115 and 120. I restarted this journey December 27. I feel like I have a kindred spirit.
We both can and both will succeed!
