  • Introduction.

Hello everyone; just want to make sure I don’t skip over the formalities and introduce myself. I stumbled upon this forum while searching for an excel spreadsheet and decided to join after viewing many of the Atkins related posts, advice, and support.
It’s very refreshing to see so many people supporting each other and taking it upon themselves to share their experiences and tips. I think I’m going to really enjoy being a member of this forum and feel very motivated knowing that there is a good reference center I can look to that is built around real personal experiences and by real people
I’m glad to have stumbled upon this forum, and am looking forward to learning more from it.

      Re: Introduction.

Welcome to ADBB You are right, this is a wonderful, supportive group of folks. As you will read and be told, Read The Book! It is essential to understanding why things are done the way they are. Any squabbles that break out are usually related to folks wanting to do things their own way, especially at the beginning, and not by the book.

I highly recommend visiting often, and post your questions. You may not always like the answers, but they will be true. There is alot of wisdom on this board.

      Good luck in your journey...

          Re: Introduction.

I actually started the induction phase about 3 weeks ago. I’ve lost about 15lbs. but I didn’t really do it the based on the regimen in the book.

I’ve tried going back to eating refined sugars, pizza, etc and at this point it just seems to make me very sick; so I’m taking it much more serious now and feel that was a good way for me to start because it really makes me think twice before choosing a high carbohydrate meal or snack.

I’m very convinced now that Atkins will work for me because although I’ve only been on it for the 3 weeks I just mentioned above, I’ve realized that I felt much better during that short time span than I have even after having indulged in something with a high carbohydrate intake.

I did try doing Atkins once before about 3 years ago but I was very ignorant about it and don’t think I did it correctly; that and the fact that I didn’t even read the book. So this time around I’m a lot more informed, everything makes sense to me and I understand the entire Atkins structure, which in turn makes me feel very, very comfortable and at ease with the new choices I’ve decided to make.

Thank you all for welcoming and for your posts.
