    Hi! I'm new here, but not new to Atkins. Nearly 7 years ago I started Atkins and lost 110 pounds. My weight goes up and down a bit, but I get back on track and get the weight off. I am up 10 pounds right now and actually want to lose 15 pounds by April. I have a hard time starting my program as I do not have support at home. I need cheerleaders out there to encourage me.

    My highest weight was 275 pounds. I am at 170 now and my goal is 155. I am 5'8".

    Thanks in advance. I'm excited about this community!

      Thanks for the reply. Last night I couldn't stop eating. I started with candy canes and ended with bananas and toast. In between was cereal and chocolate chips. It lasted for several hours! I felt out of control. This has to be my last binge if I am able to move forward to my goal. I feel awful this morning both physically and emotionally. The binges are not worth the temporary pleasure they provide.

      Thanks for taking time with me. I'm encouraged to keep on track today.

        Hi and welcome Trixie!

        Congratulations on the weight you've lost so far....we're all here to encourage each other so come here often, post (start a journal -- it's a great place for people to help you), join some challenges and just enjoy being among friends!

        Good luck to you. Hope you have the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution and have read it -- it's the edition we follow here.

        Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/.           Hi Carole! Thanks for all the good advice. I am struggling with the water issue. I forget to bring my bottle with me when I'm out of the house. I need to re-establish my water habit. It'll take me a few days for that I'm sure. Also, I like the journal idea. That should help to keep me from foraging for chocolate chips late at night!

          Your weight loss stats are impressive. Keep up the good work!

                Thank you, Christie. Today was a good day on Atkins. No carb cravings at all! I want to encourage you, too. I find a day at a time works best for me. Some days are easy, some a bit tougher. Keep up the good work! Also, keeping track of body measurements helps me when weight loss is slow.

                  I am glad you had a good day. I know exactly what you mean by having easy and then tough, days. I do keep track of my body measurements but just now found out where I actually suppose to measure at, I was measuring too far down on thighs and such, but I got it together now!

                    Welcome! it sounds like your body knows how to get you off carbs and you have a great attitiude! Keep yourself on track. i'm sure you'll succeed!
