  • January 1 - What better day to begin!

    Hello,

Here I am, in full on committment mode, completely determined to implement change into my life. To be honest, I started pre-Atkins training about 2 weeks ago and I love the changes. Two days ago, I cheated and I can honestly say I am glad I did because I proved something to myself. I really don't want sugar and crap in my life anymore. I bit into a sugary slice of key lime pie and I had to force it down. All I wanted to do was drink water water water to wash it all away.

I'm 43 years old, overweight and ready to regain my body back. I was always thin and never had food issues. I started drinking and eating crap and combined with a tortured metabolism, it wasn't long before I was just plain fat and lazy.
Tired all the time, my body ached and I was only 40! Hello!!!

So, now, I'm done with it all. Here I am, ready to change and loving watching the numbers on the scale finally head in the right direction!
On January 13, I am starting a Zumba type dance workout one day a week. On January 14th, I am starting a bootcamp for women workout one day a week. On the other days, I am doing Pilates with a home workout video.
I am also registering for a half marathon in my city for May.
    So this is really it!!!

It will be fun for me to post on here and to reach out to others for support and advice.

I'm officially starting out at 190 pounds today and I'm so excited because New Years Day dinner is pork and sauerkraut and hello, it's induction approved!

    Happy New Year Everyone!!!

    Hey there,
My first day too! Best of luck! Let me know how the zumba dance workout goes, I was only reading an article in my local paper yesterday on it and it sure looks fun!
    Enjoy the pork (",)

The best is yet to come...

Thank you for the reply! I'm so excited at the future now. Honestly there was a time where nothing would work and I felt claustrophobic and depressed. Now I know we do have control, we just have to understand how this works. Thank God for Dr. Atkins and that he wrote that book all those years ago. And thank God it is becoming more popular than ever and all his knowledge is there for our taking!

Good luck to you also! I have to get on here and learn how to get my ticker on here and all the smiley faces.

Here's to the New Year!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Thank you for the welcome! It's great to be here. This is the most comprehensive website for Atkineers that I've found so far.

I can't figure out how to put my ticker on here though. Do you know how to do it?

          Thanks!

Re: January 1 - What better day to begin!

            Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. If you can’t find a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) locally check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise seems to be under control for you but make sure you take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html . If you need anything we’re here to help you!!

            Good luck to you!
