  • Ready to go

Hello all, My name is Stephanie and I am new to the atkins diet. I currently weight 178 and decided to get started today on the program. I can use all the help I can get on this since im a newby. I had previously had bariatric surgery (lapband) which helped me get down to 148. But in doing this I had complications and had to have surgery in August to remove the band. i have gained 30 pounds since and now I am really feeling bad and depressed and ready to give up. I use to weight 110lbs before I got pregnant and then I went up to about 125 and slowly life kept going and so did my weight. I Decided to try to change from the low fat low calorie diet to the atkins program to see if it will work and help me reach my goal of 115 pounds. If nothing else i would love to reach 135 just to get my BMI in a healthy range and not be obese anymore. I am 5'4 and a half and I have one son who is 14 and ready for mom to play sports with him...lol Its time for me to get off the couch and start being active for my familys sake. My husband is so fit and active and I cant keep up anymore like I use to. I just got remarried in April and I hope to surprise my husband for our one year anniversary. I would love to be at atleast 135 by that time so I could look sexy and feel good about myself in a bathing suit (especially for our make-up honeymoon which is coming up in summer 2010) I look forward to a life changing journey on the atkins program.

      Re: Ready to go

You can do it Stephanie, just stick with us. Read the book, even if you have read it once, stick to the rules, ask questions and join a challenge and never, never feel deprived. Eat foods you really love that are on the induction list. Oh yeah, stick like glue to the list and don't eat anything for the next two weeks not on the list.
