  • Another Newbie, and her boyfriend starting on 01/05/2010!!

    Hi everybody! My name is Tiffany and my boyfriends name is Rick. We are both starting the induction on Tuesday the 5th!

    We are hoping that doing this together will allow us to keep the mutual motivation up and make it easier to work out (work out buddies).

    I would say i am looking for tips on how to kick cravings in the butt! My biggest problem is having a craving and making excuses to give in.. then i feel bad. I need some tips to help push through the cravings.

    Also for my boyfriend I am looking for some tips from the guys to help me help him stay on track. he is a big eater and hates diets! He gets hungry a lot and ends up totally cheating and just quiting! I need some help keeping him motivated and full!!

    Anybody with any tips would be much appriciated.

    Also I am looking for some awsome recepies. I LOVE to cook and dont want to wuit just because i am on a diet.

    I am starting at 213 with a goal of 125 (88 lbs)
    Rick is starting 240 with a goal of 190 (50 lbs)

    I hope that we can stay on track and do this together even though we have different amounts of weight to loose. I have more to loose, and guys tend to loose weight quicker (jerks !! lol)

    Welcome!

    Tips:

    Read and reread Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002).

    Journal what you're eating. Doesn't need to be fancy ... a notebook will work fine.

    Take your measurements now ... there will be times when you won't lose weight but you'll lose inches.

    Do Induction "by the book" ... that will help with cravings.

    There's no reason to be hungry on Atkins.

        Welcome to you both --

        The sooner you kill your snacking and sweet tooth the better you'll be. After the first couple of days you shouldn't have any cravings if you're following the plan. Make sure you drink enough water - when you think your hungry drink water - many times our bodies are screaming for water, not food!

        Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/.
