  • Praise God in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

I am thankful to have found a respectable, supportive, friendly, Atkins board. I want to thank everyone who comes here to share their joys, ups and downs, and receive and give support. This is such a beautiful thing and I am looking forward to being here.

Currently I am overweight. I lost 100 lbs. applying low-carb principles, not Atkins, but I'm looking forward to applying all that I've learned from reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution book.

My reason for choosing this woe is because I want to eat more, I basically starved myself thin prior, I figure that I can't just eat, eat, eat until my heart is content--that's why I'm back up from the 160 lbs. to 230 lbs. for a total of 70 lbs., its not a good feeling but I believe that it was inevitable because I did not learn how to have a healthy relationship with food.

So, I pray that the Lord will bless us with this weight loss, and just importantly to keep it off. Thank you for having me.
Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.
    I Dr. A
    (Female Atkineer, 39 yrs. old)

I deviated from the path after losing 100+ lbs. in 8 months 4 years ago. Now I'm back with a vengeance!!!

Have you had a chance to check out the Atkins book yet?
It will explain how to do this. It is not just about eating but chosing the right items to eat.
I hope things go well and I am glad you found us.

      Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan.

Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. If you can’t find a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) locally check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com.

Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)
Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there!
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html . If you need anything we’re here to help you!!

      Good luck to you!
      Carole
