  • Started Induction today.

Hi, name is Andrew and I'm from Edmonton Alberta. I decided I wanted to get back into Martial Arts but realized going into a dojo with a bunch of skinny people when you are over 300lbs is a bit awkward. So I decided I wanted to lose some weight first.

    Age 24
    Height: 5'11"
    CW: 308.2lbs
    GW: 205lbs.

My goal is to first hit about 245lbs then start training.

              Re: Started Induction today.

              Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan.

Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. If you can’t find a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) locally check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com - mine was under $5.00 including shipping for a "used" copy.

Plan your meals for a fews days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)

Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html . If you need anything we’re here to help you!!

              Good luck to you!
              Carole
