  • Started Today!

Hi my name is PJ.....I got diagnosed with PCOS in 2005 and did not know until 2009 how carbohydrates and insulin resistance played a part in me gaining 70 lbs in 3-4 years. I am very very frustrated with myself and the way i look....
My goal is to lose 50 lbs by May as it will be my 5 year anniversary. My husband and I have been wanting to have a child but with all this extra weight....it hasn't been a good idea. I can't wait to lose this weight and be healthy so we can have a baby.....
Will definately be on the website everyday to keep my motivation.
Wish all my fellow atkins buddies good luck!

Trying to schedule your weight loss is often unsuccessful and leads to disappointment. If you follow the plan correctly, you'll definitely see results by May. You might not lose 50 lbs though.

And the results you'll see by May are not the most important. What is important is that you learn how to maintain your weight loss once you reach your goal. Hurrying with weight loss doesn't help with this.

          Welcome to the ADBB --

Georgiana gve you some important advise - follow the plan the way it's written and enjoy the journey to becoming a slimmer person. Good luck with your weight loss and becoming a parent in the future!

Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. If you can’t find a copy locally of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com – I got a “used” copy recently for less than $5.00 including shipping.

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
          http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!!

          Good luck to you!
          Carole
