  • Finshed my book and here I am!!!!

    Tomorrow is my day. The day I change my life. I have enough food for the next three days and look forward to feeling better. I am off to bed and when I wake up that will be the day the rest of my life starts. The before and after pictures are so amazing!!! Just looking at what could happen to me is enough of a push is the right direction. The support that is passed around here is very encouraging. Look forward to getting to know everyone here.

        Welcome to the board! Sounds like you are off to a great start by reading the book. I know what you mean about the before and after pictures, I love going through that section...so amazing.

          Thanks everyone. My menu for today is eggs for breakfast, lunch one cup of salad and tuna with mayo, dinner two sauages and 2 cups of salad , snack three egg whites and cream cheese. I am good with not snacking during the day, it is the night time that gets me. I am going shopping later so I will pick up different veggies. Happy to be on the right path.

              Hi Chase. Welcome to the board and to Atkins. It's really nice to see how positive you are. Once those lbs start falling away, you'll feel even more so! Don't be discouraged if you feel off colour for a few days... it's normal... just your body weaning itself off the carb load it's used to.

                    HI and welcome!! Glad you read the book first - this so important to have all the information about the plan so you know what you are doing.

                    I agree with Julie about eggs....unless you are allergic to the yolk eggs are a wonderful source of protein. Your first day sounds good food wise - plan a few days in advance to keep yourself on track.

                    If you want to snack after dinner make sure it's something legal. Drink a glass of water before you eat anything, sometimes when we think we're hungry we're actually dehydrated and need pure water - not food. You should be drinking 64 ounces of pure water daily - make sure you also exercise and take a non-iron vitamin everyday.

                    Have you found any good recipes on Linda's site - I love the mockafoni and cheese, the stuffed peppers, sloppy joe pie and many of the quiches. -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html
