  • Back to Atkins after 8 year hiatus

I lost around 50 lbs about 8 years ago in 3 or 4 months using Atkins but in the ensuing years I have fallen off the low carb bandwagon and am now 20 lbs heavier than when I started Atkins the first time

Started doing induction right before Xmas and Christmas day went off but haven't cheated since. Lost 10 lbs so far and man is it good to be back on Atkins.

This time around instead of continuing induction for 2 months I will follow the diet for real and progress through the phases to make sure the weight stays off and I'm not posting 8 years from now that I am doing it again

Good you did not get burned.

Welcome. Good decision to do the rungs. I think that is really helping me stick to the maintaining business.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Good for you getting back on plan - and realizing that only doing induction isn't the way the plan was intended for a lifetime! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I hope you’ve read the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book it's the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase – check www.half.com or www.amazon.com.

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron vitamin daily. There are so any different forums here there is something for just about everyone. Since you've done Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.

Check Linda's recipe site - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html. If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.

        Carole
