  • Greetings from Alaska

Brand new to Atkins and to this website as of January 4th. This coming Monday the 11th of January will be my first week completed on the Atkins program. I have the books, (not really sure I understand it all) and I am looking forward very much to losing all this weight.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

      Which books do you have?

Do you have the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution?

My major thought would be to follow the programme exactly as written. It works that way

If you have questions, check this out:
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...tion-faqs.html TONS of great information here.

BTW: We follow DANDR (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 ED) on this site. Some of the older/newer books have different rules/information in them. DANDR was the last book published while Dr. Atkins was still alive.

            Welcome --

My best advise: Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!!

            Good luck to you
            Carole
