Hello. I signed up last night and started my induction phase today. I need to lose the 60 pounds that have crept up on me and attached to my backside! After researching different diets last night, I came across this message board. After reading all of your posts, I found what I was looking for--a diet that seems to work. Thank you for motivating me to join you!

Re: Newbie From North Carolina
Welcome. I'm new too (started Monday) so I'm on day 5. I still struggle a bit with my old habits (love bread and chocolate) but hoping it will end soon. I don't have a scale so I'm not able to weigh in daily like some do here - I'll probably pick one up this weekend. I don't feel any loss yet (my pants still fit tight) but hoping that will come soon too.
Again...welcome to the boards

Re: Newbie From North Carolina
Welcome!
Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.
Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin daily. Look at the challenges to see if there is anything that interests you - start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!
If you need anything we’re here to help you!!
Good luck to youCarole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

Re: Newbie From North Carolina
Thanks Kellinga and Imagood1. It's nice to have this network of people here to encourage and inspire one another. I have had a hard time sticking to a diet with a husband and two kids, but this plan is something that I really feel will work for me. I think I will have an easier time with the diet VS fixing a family meal issue.

Re: Newbie From North Carolina
Welcome!
Just so's you know - our whole family has converted to "low carb" (I'm the one doing Atkins, but DH and ODD eat relatively low carb - they eat some things on occasion I don't, but our dinners are always the same for all of us) and I think training my kidlets to eat right is the best way to go - and Atkins certainly does encourage healthy eating!
My ODD eats more veggies than a lot of kids her age as a result, and my DH is losing lots of pounds too!

Lindas recipe site has wonderful recipes that your whole family will enjoy! Try to incorporate what you are eating in their lives every once in awhile so they know how good the food is you are eating.
Good luck again!Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily
