  • I know there's a skinny person inside me!

    Hi everyone!
I just joined the board, and am new at the Atkins. I have the book, but have yet to look at it. I've been getting most of my information off the internet. (bad, I know, but I will read it I promise!)

I am 23 years old, and last week I weighed 247.4 lbs. I hate being fat and am on an exploration, quest rather - to the find the beautiful, skinny, healthy person inside of me that I know is there. I have never been on a "diet" before, and have never really watched what I threw inside my body, but after being on this for a week, I rather enjoy it. I enjoy trying new foods I've never heard of before and giving other ones a second chance.

I am married and have two beautiful Yorkies. My husband is joining me on my quest (though he only needs to lose about 15-20 lbs) and he is supporting me 100%. The reason we started the Atkins is because my husband's best friend and his wife did the Atkins and RAVED about it to us, so we had to try! Its been a week, and I've already lost 9 lbs! I am overjoyed and cannot wait to see what God has in store for this future beauty queen.

My goal is 165-170 OR a size 10 Jeans. I HAVEN'T WORN A SIZE 10 SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL. I want to be healthy and happy and active and live a life full of adventure. =)

I look forward to meeting you all and making lots of friends. I am doing a daily progress blog which you all may follow if you like. Good luck and keep the faith!

      Welcome, Rachel!

      >>'ve been getting most of my information off the internet. (bad, I know,>>

Are you getting your information from this site? Other places can have wrong information (including the 'official' Atkins site ... which has incorrect carb counts and incorrect Induction food list.

Yes, reading the book is a must ... you need to understand what you're doing! I've never known anyone to achieve their goals without having a well thumbed copy.

Congratulations on your loss so far!

        Welcome, Rachel!

Here are some links for you:

Hello, and happy Friday to you all in Low Carb Land. I tried to get away with it, but I just can't do it anymore. I thought I'd do my own modified induction, and I.

As a teacher, this time of year is hard. Two words....spring parties. My sixth grade class asked for a spring party and I happily obliged them. Today I was faced with.

Hi,I'm Joy and I started Atkins on Oct. 2nd. Ihad a rough first two days with cravings, but I am beginning to adjust. Have lost 6lbs. I do have some gastrointestinal.

Re: I know there's a skinny person inside me!

          Welcome -

First of all, just don't look at the book, read it.....that way you know if you're following the plan the way it's written or "the way my friend told me"....

Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
