Hello All! I had been lurking around this forum for awhile before I finally decided to commit and begin induction. I am a 28 year-old single (
) girl. I started gaining weight about two years ago--and to date have gained 50 lbs!!! 50lbs in two years. Insane. Excuses? I have none. No pregnancies, illnesses, etc., just plain laziness. I let my eating get TOTALLY out of control and I stopped going to the gym. Before I started this diet my average daily calories had reached nearly 3000 a day. Yuck. I just would start munching and not stop, the more I gained the more depressed I got and in turn the more I ate.
I started induction on January 2 (on day 8!) at 5ft8in tall and about 175lbs. I have been doing very well so far--no cravings and I feel pretty good--a little sleepy from getting up to go to the bathroom 47x a night
The other issue i have is my cheese addiction. I am eating nearly 6oz of cheese a day. I know that needs to be no more than 3oz a day but overeating habits are hard to kick, my goal this week is to keep that under control. I weighed myself this morning for the first time since day 1 and have only lost 4lbs but I started back at the gym this morning so I expect that that will help alot. I had forgotten how great a sweaty work out makes me feel
Thanks so much for this board! It really has helped me understand Dr. Atkin's plan and how to make it a lifestyle for me. Good Luck to all the other newbies and wish me luck with my cheese problems!

Nyquil even worse! 19 carbs.
Food intake was good though. I am also very sleepy, but then again being sick doesn't help. My body is a little weak today, but down 5 lbs, so i feel ok about it. Hope things go well for you, check in next week and we can let each know how were doing.
