    Hello,

    Mike L. here, I am starting Atkins again for the 3rd and last time. I have used the method before but became discouraged at the 14 day mark and only lost 7-8 lbs. I have been reading where that is common. I weighed this morning 200lbs this afternoon 204 lbs, this is driving me nuts! I will stay the course, will drinking two cups of coffee or a diet soda stop the weight loss? I am also on bp meds, bluf the weight must go. My goal weight is 155 lbs. Any and all advice is welcome.

    You know it's normal to weigh more in the afternoon than you do in the morning, right?

    If the number on the scale bothers you so much, then weigh yourself only in the morning and don't weigh daily. If you follow the plan correctly, you will lose weight whether you weigh 100 times per day or only once.

    Some people are slowed down by coffee and diet sodas. Others are fine with it. Caffeine and artificial sweeteners can also trigger cravings for some, leading to overeating or eating the wrong foods.

    Are you reading the book? We go by Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002) here.

      Thanks Georgiana,

      I weighed this morning and was a lb less than yesterday! Yea!! I have read the book before, I get the concept and idea I am sure by commiting to good communication with everyone here will also help. I felt much better after reading what some other folks were saying about their weight loss. I plan to stay in the induction phase until I reach 155 so I'm about 45 lbs away. I figure this will take much of 2010, it is my goal to be at 155 by Jan 2011. Do you know where I can find a weight tracker online? Is there even such a thing?

        Hi and welcome back to Atkins Mikel--

        Good for you getting back on plan! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I only weigh myself every other Monday - that way I'm pleasantly surprised at my progress....if i was on the scale several times a dayI would, like you, get disgusted. Exercise, take a non-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily, daily. Check Linda's recipe site - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --

        Since you've done Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet.
