  • Starting Induction tomorrow

    Hey everyone! I have heard about the Atkin's plan for years now, but have finally decided to try it. I've read the book from cover to cover and I start tomorrow. My husband is doing it with me and we went and bought all of our food for week 1 today. We are both super excited to get started~ we are so lucky to have each other as support systems! Any advice/tips/ect are welcome!

    Age: 25
    Height: 5'3
    SW/CW: 217
    End Goal:130

    Mini Goal 1 - 210 Wednesday, Jan 16, 2010
    Mini Goal 2 - 199 Thursday, Feb 11, 2010
    Mini Goal 3 - 190
    Mini Goal 4 - 180
    Mini Goal 5 - 169 (No longer Obese on BMI chart) *Hopefully by June 10, 2010
    Mini Goal 6 - 140 (Normal weight on BMI chart)
    Goal - 129 I can do it!

      Welcome to both of you!

      Don't get upset when your husband looses faster and with less effort than you do...it happens!

      Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

      Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/.
