  • Im a newbie to this site :)

Hello Everyone! My name is Kellan and I'm new to this board, but not new to atkins diet. I started my journey last March of 2009 all the way to September 20, 2009. After that I started being "normal"(lol) and ate what I wanted until January 2nd with my boyfreind. He likes to diet and lift as well. He is more the body building type though. During the time of my diet I lost 55lbs with just dieting and walking, I didnt lift at that time. I restarted my diet again January 2 of this year. This year I have introduced light lifting in with it. I walk 3 miles at 6am and then lift for a hour at 530pm. I wieghed in for the 1st week today and I've lost 5lbs! Hope to get to know everyone soon

    Welcome, Kellan!

Looks like you've learned on your own skin that Atkins is a way of eating for life and not just a diet.

Did you read Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)? That's the book we go by here.

Thank you!! I realized I posted it in the wrong area, but didnt know how to move it or if you could! Thanks!

And no, I havent read that book. My boyfreind studies every aspect there is in dieting and exercise! So he is pretty much my trainer!

I would suggest you read the book yourself instead of relying on your boyfriend.

Did your boyfriend read the book?

Many people think they are doing Atkins correctly because they are doing what they've heard from X... and they discover after weeks "on plan" that in fact they did it all wrong.

              Welcome

Get the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book if you don't already have it, and read it!

Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
