  • I think I can, I think I can, I think I can

    Hello from Mississipppi.

I am planning to start induction tomorrow and I am so excited. My husband is working out of state for the next 6 weeks and my hope is to lose a few pounds while he is not looking.

    Any homeschooling moms out there???

    Signed,

    Welcome!

You do plan to make Atkins a lifestyle and not just lose weight while your husband is away, right?

Are you reading the book -- Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)?

      Welcome to the board!

I always find it's easier to resist temptation when dh is away. And that way, I'm well into the right mind-set and it's not so hard to stay focused after he returns. I hope it works for you too. Just remember to keep it up because it's the best thing you can do for yourself.

            Re: I think I can, I think I can, I think I can

            Welcome --

Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
