  • Hi Im Mina. 22. Trying the atkins diet yet again.

Im Mina. Im 22 years old. I have two sons (ages 2 and 1) so after gaining a good 80lbs between my boys I have decided its time to loose yet again...When I was 14 i did the Atkins diet and dropped 40lbs in about 3 months (went from 175 to 135) but then i was active and a kid....
Now im at a whopping 228lbs. (was 238 about 2 weeks ago when i started the diet).....I want to be at 150....my main goal and maybe 130 after that. Im about 5ft 3in......

Im not too familiar with the forum language...
so what is induction? or OPW or whatever those things are. If someone would explain that would be awesome!!!

    Thanks...nice to meet you all!
    My name is MINA!!!

If you can't find it, buy a new one!

And if you do find it, make sure it's the 2002 edition.

This is not forum language. Induction and OWL are discussed in all editions of the book published after 1992.

You can do it! Little kids can keep you active and burning calories. Make playing on the floor with them into exercise, lift them like weights over your head etc. Tell yourself no sitting on couch while folding laundry etc. It really is the little things that keep you energy levels up.
I remember having 2 little kids and feeling fat and not wanting to leave the house BUT I bought a long jacket and some sweat pants & a double stroller. I started getting out for walk rain or shine and the weight starting dropping off little by little.

            You can do it!!!!

                Welcome to the Atkins Board.

To get started, make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal. The book you have is probably not the one we follow on this site -- if you can’t find a copy locally of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) check online at www.half.com or www.amazon.com – I got a “used” copy recently for less than $5.00 including shipping not long ago.

Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
                http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
