  • Introduction, on day 10

My name is Jenn and my husband and I started induction on January 4th. I think we have both been doing pretty good. It was really hard for me the first few days but have felt much better since then. I lost 7 pounds the first 7 days so I feel like I cannot complain about that. I'm hoping to lose about 75 pounds overall, and get back to what I weighed before we had our two beautiful daughters. I seem to have a slow metabolism and hoping this will help with that.

I'm looking forward to when I can eat my veggies again like I used to, and fruit too. Those have been one of the hardest things for me so far.

    Welcome to ADBB!

That's pretty great progress so far!

Have you read the book? If not, get a copy, I think you'll really find it enlightening and there's some great stuff there for you to think about.

As for eating "veggies like I used to" - you should be eating tons of veggies - albeit relatively low carb like broccoli, cabbage, spinach, etc. - right now. Are you doing so?

Thanks for the welcome! My husband had the book from doing it before (2002 version) and so I read through it a few days before we started.

Maybe I'm confused on my veggies, I am eating a salad at lunch most days and then 1 cup of veggies in addition say at dinner. I'm just used to eatting more veggies, like snacks and with every meal and then I'm used to eatting at least two pieces of fruit a day. I've gotten pretty used to it by now but it just seemed foreign to me at first

This is the I think the first time I'm really sticking to something, and seeing results is definitely helping!!

              What's in your salad?

On some days I'm having a chicken cesar and others I have a couple cups of lettuce with some egg, cheese, ham or turkey, a couple pieces of tomato, peperoncini, few slices of mushroom and maybe a couple pieces of broccoli. At dinner we have had broccoli, or the other night my husband made faux mashed potatoes with cauliflower.

As long as it's not "just" lettuce!
