  • I'm New...again

    Hello everybody!

I started Induction on Jan. 6.

Start weight 199 (There was NO way I was going to hit 200!)
After first week down to 193.

Biggest challenge...I love chocolate and crave carbs. I have a hard time coming up with ways to cook induction foods in an interesting and EASY way. I have a huge appetite right now and think I am overeating on induction. Hopefully that will pass.

I WILL stick with Atkins because I know it works. 5 years ago I used Atkins to lose 40 lbs. I gained during pregnancy. I have higher goals now...hope to lose 50 - 55 lbs.

What keeps me going? Reminding myself to take it one day at a time.

      Welcome to ADBB!

I love chocolate and crave carbs.
After a while, the cravings should subside. Did you check the ingredients in all the foods you're eating to make sure everything is okay for Induction?

      Are you drinking coffee?

        Welcome to ADBB.
Looks like you are off to a great start. Would you believe that the longer you do this the easier it gets. Well I think so. Good luck.

          Re: I'm New...again

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Good for you getting back on plan! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I hope you have the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book it's the edition we follow on this site. Exercise, take a non-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure. Check Linda's recipe site - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
          http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Also, if you make Atkins a lifestyle change and not a diet you go off and on you'll keep the weight off once you get to your goal. Since you've been on Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
          Carole
