  • I stopped the bing in its tracks!!

    Hello All!

I am very excited this time around doing the atkins diet. I have started and stopped so many times and recently had a relapse...I have been on induction for about 12 days now and I have lost about 6lbs so far. I was just about ready to give up and resort to a calorie restricted diet. I knew in my heart that it wouldnt work and rather than carry a one night binge on for weeks I decided to jump back on the diet the very next day. I am so happy I did!! One of the great things Ive noticed so far is I am much more happier, energic, focused, and organized in all aspects of my life. My sugar levels also seem to be stable. The day I binged I realized the harmful affect of sugar which really was an eye opener for me. I went from one cookie to 3 or 4 that lead to a huge bowl of my daughter's captain crunch and from that a fun size baby ruth...I was on a roll!! The spike of sugar made me crave more whereas eating low carb keeps me satisfied, less hungry, and comfortable. My cravings have subsided for the most part, and I am really exploring the diet in full detail. I purchased a couple of LC cook books and it has been a great help in building variety for the week. I am feeling more than great this time around and I have made a goal to look for guidance and motivation whenever Im having a tough time or just to encourage my efforts. I am so happy I found this place a while back, and look foward to reading and sharing this life experience.

Im not sure how this goes, but Ive notice alot of people have there stats posted...I want to join in!

          Welcome...
I too have a sweet tooth and fell off the wagon last week. I noticed immediately how fast I wanted to eat anything and everything. I noticed a change in how my stomach felt (lately I'd been feeling like I had IBS) - but since going Atkins, those stomach issues have QUIT! Like you, I got right back to doing things right...perfect? No, but each day gets easier and better. I've only lost 3-5 lbs but I KNOW this is the right place to be. Thanks for telling us your struggle. I think it's helpful to others who may mess up occasionally.

          Good Luck

Good for you for getting right back on track and taking control of your eatin! Sugar is a demon that can lead us astray so fast if we're not careful.

It's easy to give in to the voices in your head that say "one bite won't hurt"....but we all know there is no such thing as "one bite"....congrats on getting back on plan!!a

Thanks all!! I can already tell this site will become my number 1 place for support!! You guys are great!!

Here are the low carb cookbooks im starting with:

                1. By Dana Carpender "500 Low-Care Recipes"
                2. By Carlean Johnson "Six Ingredients or Less--0-6 net carbs per serving"

The are both pretty good, the first one is a bit more fancy and has some killer dessert recipes!!!Ill have to save those for later phases!...Hope ya'll enjoy your weekend!!
