Hi Everyone!
My name is Maria and I'm on day 4 of induction. I am hoping to get great information and advice from everyone here. I've been lurking for a day or two and this seems like a friendly, informative place.
As for my weight loss story, it's similar to some that I've read. I really never had a weight problem most of my life. For being 5'2 I was happy with the 125 that I was. I quit smoking when I was 25 and packed on 30 lbs. I kept that on until right before I got married in June of 2006. My DH and I got personal trainers and lost a bunch of weight. Size 4 never looked so good.
Then I got preggo in Jan 07 and gained a bunch of weight. That was due to me eating what ever I wanted when I wanted. I think the fact that I was home on disability didn't help. I was bored and ate all the time. I was 155 when I got preggo and when I gave birth, I was 216. WOW! A month after birth I got down to 180. I have been hovering in the 165 to 180 area since.
Well, I would like to get preggo again and want to be at a healthy weight when I do. I chose Atkins because I like the no sugar/low carbs aspect. that is what got me in trouble in the first place and i am sick of the regret that I feel when sweets and candy pass my lips. It will be a rough ride but it will be worth it in the long run.
