Hello everyone, my name is Chris.
I'm 38 years old, and I have spent what seems a lifetime just 'accepting' my weight.
I just happen to walk past one of the freight scales at work about a month ago and stepped on it just joking around. I was taken aback and disgusted with myself. when I saw the results.
I was very athletic through high school and college, after I graduated I just gradually have gotten bigger and bigger.
After actually seeing my weight, something inside me just clicked and said it's now or never. I did a little research and chose the Atkins diet. I need a lifestyle change and through everything I read about, I loved most how Atkins has a long term plan for not only losing weight, but changing the way I live to keep healthy after the weight is lost.
I began the new me on January 4, 2009, and faithfully followed the induction period. I was/am thrilled to say that I lost 20 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I know not to expect that kind of loss to continue, but I feel absolutely wonderful to see some success, and it makes me feel proud and strong, and I just want to keep going even more.
I happened across this community by accident and decided to join because I really don't have much in the way of family support and thought this might be a good place to learn about others and maybe I can be there to help someone along the way.
My initial weight on Jan. 4 was 384lbs, I am now down to 361 as of this morning.
