    Greetings All!

This is my umpteenth time doing the Atkins diet. I've been on-again off-again so many times, but this time, well, I turned 50 and realized I'm carrying 50 extra pounds of me around. Well, last Wednesday, I started again, and couldn't be happier. I'm hypoglycemic, and know that I can't keep on like this. My mother had hypoglycemia for years and guess what? She's now diabetic. I do not want that to be my future. I am so happy I'm back Atkins-ing!

I'm happier, sleeping better, have more energy, my joints aren't aching, I'm more focused, and I want to wake up in the morning! Happy for me, my fiance finally has now picked up the reminder baton, and now he's making sure all meals are Atkins friendly. He's even making sure that I have a breakfast, lunch and snack prepared to take with me to work. Yea!

So, here goes! I'm excited and glad to be here!

    Re: Greetings!

Congratulations on makin a lifestyle change for yourself, and it seems, for your fiance also! Good luck to you -- make sure you read the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - the edition we follow here. Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added or it doesn't count toward the 64 ounces). Don't forget to exercise and take a vitamin w/o iron.

      Re: Greetings!

Welcome back to Atkins! Hopefully this time you will realize that staying on plan is much better for your health than going off and on all the time.

        Welcome to ADBB!

If your boyfriend is the one cooking, I hope he is also familiar with the Rules of Induction and the Acceptable Foods List:

@Georgiana, Yes he is familiar with "the rules," and I have found an induction two-week meal plan to follow. It makes it all so easy when there's a plan.

            Re: Greetings!

@blueberrylady, Indeed! Atkins is really the only way I have ever found to balance my hypoglycemia. And since I really don't want to develop diabetes, ahem, I must "get my act together."
