Hello and welcome. Piece o' advice #1 is to buy a copy of Dr Atkins' New Diet Revolution 2002 from Half.com, for $5 or less including shipping. It's an invaluable resource!

Welcome to ADBB, Manny!
The sticky thread are great... however, they are not a substitute for the book.

Piece o' advice #2 is make planning your mainstay! Plan your meals and snacks in advance, know what's in your food and how many net carbs you're consuming. Lots of folks here use FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal to record their food intake. We can also help you review your menu once you get the first day or so planned out - and don't forget to eat lots of veggies (at least 1/2 of your net carbs, per Rule 3 of Induction).

thank you i just purchased the audio atkins book. since i have a long commute to and from work. i hope the book doesnt have graphs and list that i should probably have. if anyone has a meal plan that they can show me so i have an example of one. without reading the book i was just going to be eating for instance. breakfast an egg omlete with chees and bell peppers snacks were peperoni and string cheese. which i know the pep is not good. lunch a chicken ceaser salad and for dinner one chicken breast and vegetables. can i eat sugar free jello on the induction.

I find the paperback handy to have around, so I suggest you buy it as well. Nice bathroom reading.
You need a lot more veggies, my friend. I find the humble cherry tomato a handy-dandy little guy to eat with my meats/fats.
Also - eat more fatty things. Atkins is a high fat/medium protein/low carb diet. Don't be afraid of good, hearty butter, and the nicer, fattier cuts of meat.
I recommend you sign up for fitday (FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal) and track what you eat - it makes a HUGE difference!

I don't know how's the audio book.Originally posted by STRONG74 View Postthank you i just purchased the audio atkins book
It's best to use the Acceptable Foods List to plan your own meals. That's how you learn.if anyone has a meal plan that they can show me so i have an example of one.
Only one egg? I'd starve with that breakfast.breakfast an egg omlete with chees and bell peppers
It's a processed meat... it's generally cured with sugar... and it should be avoided.snacks were peperoni and string cheese. which i know the pep is not good.
Sans croutons... and check the ingredients and net carbs in the dressing.chicken ceaser salad
Atkins is a high fat diet. During Induction, 60-70% of your daily calories should come from fat.
You can use fitday.com to enter your daily menus. It will give you back carbs, dietary fiber, protein, fat, percentages, calories, etc.
To calculate net carbs, which is what we count on Atkins, you subtract dietary fiber from total carbs.
You "can" and you would need to count each serving as one serving of sweetener. Sweeteners are limited to 3 servings per day.can i eat sugar free jello on the induction.
However, my advice is to starve your sweet tooth... which means avoiding sweets, at least during Induction."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

You'll get the hang of it - learn how to enter custom foods too for foods you don't find there.Originally posted by STRONG74 View PostTHANKS for the links i have already printed them and will read them when i get home. and i just signed up at fitday looks a little cofusing with looking up the food but i just now signed up so i havnt gave it a chance yet.
