Hello everyone!
I did Atkins 6 years ago when I was engaged to be married. At that time, I quickly lost 25 pounds and was the smallest I had ever been in my life. Prior to my wedding in 2005, I gained 10 pounds back and had a hard time getting back on track with low carb. Over the honeymoon, I gained back nearly all the weight I had lost on Atkins. Immediately after my wedding, I got pregnant with my first child and when that child was only 9 months old, I was pregnant with my second child. Sadly, after only 3 years of marriage and 2 babies, I decided to end my marriage.
So, here I am again, 6 years older and this time a single mom of two. Thankfully, I was at least able to lose all the baby weight from both my pregnancies just from breastfeeding and chasing after the kids, but I am now back at pretty much the same weight I was when I did Atkins back in 2004. I know I look pretty good as I am and I am really not overweight, but I want to be thin again.
I completed 2 weeks of induction on Sunday and had lost 5 or 6 pounds. I was hoping for a better loss, but I'll take it. I am continuing with induction for another 2 weeks or so but I have the odd day of 5 extra carbs or a handful of nuts, etc. I'd like to lose another 15 pounds.
I find Atkins this time around a little more challenging because I have small kids who are always eating pasta, cookies, fruit, etc. Being a single mother who is self employed, I also have very little time for working out, but I try to get 30 minutes of cardio in 4 or 5 times per week. And, my extra big challenge is that I now have a cake and cupcake business as well, so I'm always making cakes and cupcakes!!!! So, if I can do this this time, nothing will stop me!
