You know - "here I go again," lol.
I've been here before. In fact, I've done Atkins so many times with a moderate amount of success (and I certainly never gained weight) over the years (about 10 years now).
In highschool I was in the 130's. Through most of college I was in the 140's/150's, and stuck there until I was married. After that, and following my grandmother's death, I ballooned up to around 190ish, but then using Atkins and then PSMF I worked my way back down to 150ish.
Then I found myself pregnant, with twins. Gained 20 pounds instantly. About 10 weeks in I miscarried - and gained another 20 pounds. I was desperate with sadness, and found myself pregnant again rather quickly, during which time I packed on another 60 pounds.
So, gaining about 100 pounds in a year was ridiculously bad for me, and I was miserable, especially towards the end of my pregnancy. Fortunately, I lost 35 pounds within a week or two of having the baby - and since then (just over a year now) I've been stuck at 215 giving half hearted attempts to Weight Watchers, Calorie Counting, Lets Do Lunch, The Zone, PSMF and whatever, you name it, I tried it. Except... well, except the one thing that only ever worked for me. Atkins.
And here I find myself again - and I feel different this time. Older, wiser - like I know how to control my eating and truly understand the importance of following the plan as it is written (in the 2002 vs of the book of course
). I start induction tomorrow after having my last hoorah tonight (wings and booze of all things, lol - I should probably be eating mac n' cheese and mashed potatoes, ha ha ha).
I look forward to getting to know all of you, and I look forward to sharing my successes within this forum!
Thank you!
