  • Fresh Meat, literally!

Hello guys and dolls. After the umpteenth time of trying the Atkins diet, I am finally motivated to committ to it. I am a 29 year old married mother with 3 children, one who is 7 months old. I work an almost night shift, full time, sitting on my wide behind for 10 hours a day. I love my children and being a mother but unfortunately all of my great moms out there, we don't get paid in cash for our service and somebody has to feed the brood. My reason behind starting Atkins again is because as I near the big 3-0, I am learning more and more everyday that the things my body could tolerate 9 years ago are obselete. I also want to be here in 20 mroe years to be with my kids and grandkids and maybe great-grans one day. I believe I will be successful this time around because I realize how un happy I am in my skin and I am determined to change things. I love chatting and I welcome encouragement and wisdom from those who have walked the path before me. I will be posting a picture as soon as I can. In the mean time good luck to the other fresh meat folks out there. Let's get healthy and meet our WL goals in 2010!

    Re: Fresh Meat, literally!

Warm welcome aboard Mrs Bee! Nice to have you with us here.
As you're not new to Atkins you'll no doubt have read one of his books. Just to specify... the one we go by here at ADBB is the 2002 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. It was the last one Dr A wrote in its entirety before his death, so is the least likely to have had other "pens" interfering with it.

    Happy losing!
    Before and after:

    PLEDGING FLIGHTS
Completed: 1st set of buildings and mountains (Everest,M.Blanc & Kilimanjaro, twice); Tower Masts & Chimneys; More virtual buildings; Challenger's Choice x 2 (volcanos and mountains on Mars). Currently climbing: Mount Snowdon again: 416/475

Start 10 Jan 2005. Maintenance since Aug. 2005.

      Welcome back to Atkins!

I hope you make it a lifestyle change this time instead of just a quick fix because this is the best way of eating there is to ensure that you are around for your kids and theirs! Good luck to you!

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Good for you getting back on plan! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I hope you have the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book it's the edition we follow on this site. Exercise, take a non-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure. Check Linda's recipe site - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
        http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Since you've done Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.

Congrats on your results so far!

Don't forget to plan. It's more helpful than keeping fingers crossed.
