  • I'm starting today 1/23! Do my mini goals look OK?

    Hi All ,

Decided to give Atkins another round. I had success the first time around, 8 years ago. I only needed to lose 16 lbs, it came off fairly quick.

My baby is 20 months old and I am ready to get my healthy life and body back. I am looking to lose 35 lbs and begin working as a commercial print model again.

Wish me luck! If my mini goals do not look realistic, please let me know

    Thanks!
    Shannon

I think that anytime you have a date goal you're setting yourself up for disappointment ... they are so rarely met.

Also ... when's your day of rest from working out?

Also ... 35 pounds in 99 days ... probably unrealistic ... that would require a 2.5 pound weight loss per week ... with no exceptions.

That's not really giving your body a chance.

And ... many find the last 5 or ten pounds come off much slower.

This isn't a race ... even with yourself.

      Welcome to the ADBB!

It's best to look at Atkins as a way of life instead of a race to the finish line. Take your time, stay within the guidelines and enjoy the adventure to a happy, healthier you. It will happen if you stick with it.

Having babies and turning 30 may have changed your metabolism. So this journey may be different than your previous one. Just saddle in - follow the rules and it will happen.

Good luck to you and welcome back!

I set up mini goals too because it motivates me tremendously. I want to lose 20 pounds in the first month! One more week to go and I am 5 pounds away!

Thanks for your msg. I dropped down to 123 last time on atkins. Once I make a commitment to start something I go in full force. Sometimes I tend to go overboard on the fitness end, up to 3 hours a day!

I do cardio every day, beside making me feel good it helps me sleep. And, I alternate strength training so I don't injure or overwork any muscle group.
