  • Getting my head back in the game

Hi, My name is Nic and I am a mother of two very active kids. I just went back to work and love every second of it. Problem is finding time to workout and make the proper foods. I have had amazing success with atkins 4 years ago but lost wieght for all the wrong reason and bounced back to my heaviest. I hate this feeling. Back then I didn't have any support from like minded atkiners. They all thought I was either not eating or just eating beefstx and cheese.. I joined bulletin board so that I could be with people who understand. And because i love to cook and experiement with food that is truely low carb. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know. I am on the begining of a change of life and appreciate all your support.

Re: Getting my head back in the game

    Welcome to ADBB
That is why we are here for support. I hope you have the book so that you can figure out what to do and it is very encouraging to read it too. Helps me every time I do. I think especially repeat atikineers should take time to go through the rules. Then they should erase absolutely every memory from their previous attempt becasue the thing is that many would have picked up bad habits and now back on induction they think they can get away with it. But very likely they can not.
Well that is just my suggestions. Hope to see you around posting

Hi Nic, Welcome to ADBB, it's nice to have another from the pacific NW here. I'm sure you'll find us a supportive and helpful community. Be sure to read the book and ask as many questions as you need.

Re: Getting my head back in the game

thanks for the well wishes and great adivice about "the rules". I am very lucky to have fresh sea food and fresh organic meat at my disposal. Its all about the prep time and timing my game plan. I get up at 4:50 every morning and am in bed by 10:30 at the latest its all about the time issue. I can do this and thank you for all your support through out this process.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Good for you getting back on plan! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I hope you have the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book it's the edition we follow on this site. Exercise, take a non-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure. Check Linda's recipe site - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
          http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Since you've done Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
          Carole
