Have you planned your menu for the next days?

Are you reading the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution?

      Re: Starting Atkins

      Welcome

Eat a variety of foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html. Make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!

        Re: Starting Atkins

Hi Georgiana~ No, I haven't made my menu for the few days. I'm lost on what to plan. I have read the 2002 book. I actually only did this diet for just two weeks years ago. I hope to be more successful this time...! I'm glad for this site. Thanks!

Probably many of the foods you ate pre-Atkins can be low-carbed if you just omit one or two ingredients... or substitute them with something else.

If you're looking some new recipes, you might want to check out these websites:

              Re: Starting Atkins

Thanks! I'm looking at the recipes right now and jotting alot of them down. I never realized you could eat like that with this plan. I just assumed meat, eggs and cheese.

On that note I would like to suggest the book too. Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. Good source. If you do not have it look here

Do not forget to eat veggies. Plenty (3 cups of veggies) And drink plenty of water and exercise. This is a healthy diet (in spite of the silly stuff you read in media some times)

Vegetables have always been a part of Atkins.
