  • Maybe this time...

The weight will come off. Ive never done a low carb diet. I feel my brain will not feel like its being deprived of "real food". Thats usally why other types of diets never worked for me. In the past Ive worked out 5 days a week burning 700 calories a workout. Eating 1200 to 1500 calories a day and nothing worked.

Its been a week since Ive been eating low carb and I feel great! I havent had any heartburn at all this week.

I do have one question: I have felt dizzy a couple times, what could that be caused from?

    Re: Maybe this time...

Welcome -- what are you eating and how much...that might help tell us why you are dizzy. How much pure water are you drinking daily. Have you read the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution edition? It's the book we follow here.

There is no reason to feel deprived of "real food"....that's what Atkins is all about...not processed or boxed foods, whole foods.

Let us know about what you're eating. Good luck.

      Welcome to ADBB!

I have felt dizzy a couple times, what could that be caused from?
Dizziness is often a symptom of hypoglycemia.

How many calories are you consuming?

How many net carbs? How many of your net carbs are coming from vegetables?

Are you eating every few hours meals that combine fat, protein and some carbs (preferably carbs from vegetables)?

Is your diet high in fat? At least during Induction, approximately 65% of your calories should come from fat.

        Welcome to the board, Denise!

I"m glad you are enjoying Atkins and are feeling good. One of the main reasons I stay on the plan is because it cured by acid reflux so I know what you're talking about! It's a great lifestyle and I hope you continue it!

          Re: Maybe this time...

Hello! I will give you a general day of eating for me.

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, 1/4 cup mushrooms, sprinkle of cheese less than 1/4 cup (mixed together)
          2 slices bacon

Lunch: steak 6 oz, green beans (sometimes buffalo wings 1 carb)

          snack: Hard boiled egg

Dinner: Chicken Breast, faux rice (cauliflower) 1/2 cup, broccoli 1/2 cup

          Snack: sugar free jello

I think on the days I feel dizzy is at a snack time, when I dont have any food around. I need to pack something in my purse. Any suggestions?

I havent counted any calories. Is this bad?

And I havent had acid reflux for a whole week since I've started!

Water intake: eight 8 oz per day.

Since Ive failed at all other diets it just makes you question if you are doing this right, I hope I am.

          Thanks for the help

You're only drinking the minimum amount of water ... you might try drinking 1/2 your current weight in ounces of water.
