  • Hi, I'm new and tired..

I have been eating nuts. I'm on my 19th day and I've lost 5 lbs. I am fine with the loss and I have been in ketosis pretty regularly (med. purple/pink) But I started gravitating towards nuts. Could they be keeping me in an induction "flu" state? I've been tired and uncomfortable and I should know better than to go totally nut crazy... I've answered my own question I think, I will try induction again. Is there another reason I could be fluish that anyone can think of?

eat a balanced atkins. Are you eating your veggies all 3 cups worth along with your nuts or just nuts? while nuts according to Dr Atkins are great foods packed with antioxidents and other stuff needed for health they do not contain all the vits and minerals we need.

You might just be sick too

Re: Hi, I'm new and tired..

I just recently started this diet: exactly one day after I started to shake the typical very tired feeling, I'm quite sure I came down with some sort of bug and only realized it when the bug passed and I suddenly felt *much* better. I was very tired, shakey and had aching muscles but no fever. I'm positive it was some sort of physical illness and not diet induced bacause of how very much better I very suddenly felt three days later when I woke up. I even stayed in bed the entire first day, totally unlike me at all. I'm glad I didn't listen to my husband's frets that it was all this diet's fault.

I hope this helps in your self eval.

I have not touched a nut and perhaps it's better if I don't ever have one - they can be like potato chips to me - one is too much. I haven't had a chip in over a year for that reason, don't miss them much anymore now because I just let them go. Not missing them much took a while to happen, though.

      Cheers!

Thank You so much for your reply. You are so right about the nuts. I don't feel as if I have the control I should on LC. I've never joined a group like this and this is a nice change from being "alone" in the journey. Thanks.. Also, you could be right about the bug thing 've slep FAR more than I should in the 24hrs I've slept 11 hrs. I NEVER do that 2 naps and an 8hr night. Thanks a lot!

Re: Hi, I'm new and tired..

If you are on extended induction and have added nuts why don't you just move to OWL and start adding the foods in order, according to the Rungs? You don't have that much weight to loose and you need time to move up the Rungs slowly so you'll find the foods you can eat without any problem and those that effect your weight loss. Good luck.

Re: Hi, I'm new and tired..

I had started eating nuts too and they not only stalled my weight loss but caused cravings for other things too so I gave them up completely and don't plan on adding them back into my diet. I gained 7 lbs but have now lost 5 of it again. To me, nuts and peanut butter are like poison to my system and I'm better off without them.
