  • Back Again...

Hello! Well, here I am! Back again! I lost 130 pounds on Atkins about 5 1/2 years ago and swore I would never gain it back. Slowly but surely, I have gained back a large chunk of weight (about 80 pounds spread over 3 years).

Last Monday, started gym - didn't eat well but I did exercise which was a start. Tuesday, started back on Atkins induction. The work week went well, I was at the gym on Mon., Tues., Weds., Thurs., and Saturday and felt really good! Saturday night came though and all my hard work felt lost since we had gone out for some drinks with friends. Danced for several hours and woke up Sunday with sore legs from all the dancing in 4'' heels and then had the hangover from ****! Husband fed me JIB - yes, JIB!!! As if it couldn't get worse from drinking!! So, this Monday - started induction again and have been at the gym everyday this week and feeling great. Last Monday my start weight was 272.8 and today my weight was 266.0 - so a good loss considering my flubs.

My goal is to be down to 200 by July 1st - is this possible? Hope so!! I am exercising this time where 5 years ago, I did not and was able to lose the 130 over the course of 1 year. I am shooting for the stars here!!! Wish me luck and best of luck to you all!

    Welcome to ADBB!

There's 155 days. You would need to lose almost .4 of a pound every day.

Women lose at the statistical rate of 1/2 to 1 pound per week.

If you do Atkins properly, you can certainly lose something in 155 days.

Wow you did so well there 5 years ago
Good job on being back before it had all come back
Looks like you are off to a very good start but years do add up and bodies change so be patient with yourself.
My usual advice to second comers is:
      Forget first time.
Approach this as you had never heard of the diet.
      Study the rules.

I agree with Liv -- also, make sure you're ONLY having foods AND drink on the acceptable food list. Make sure you are dinking a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily to keep your system functioning properly - nothing added.

Since you've done Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet.

Good luck on the journey to your goal.

          Welcome, Stephanie!

Last time you were on Atkins, did you go through OWL and Pre-Maintenance before you reached goal?
