  • Hi from SE Connecticut!

    Hi all,

This is my second "real" attempt on the plan. 8 years ago I successfully lost 35lbs. and managed to keep it off for 3 years. At that point there were some life changes including a new house which we had to tear out the kitchen - leading to eating out too much - thus the downfall.

Since then I have tried to lose weight with various methods, including eating a "healthy" low-cal diet, but they always failed.

I am now in day 12 of Induction and doing great! Ketones are showing, energy is way up, and clothes a little looser. I am at the gym 3 days a weeks running and lifting to burn the fat. I am totally motivated and hope to lose 50lbs. this time around.

Thanks ahead of time for the support,
    Chandler

Hi and welcome back to Atkins Chandler --

Good for you getting back on plan! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I hope you've already read the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book - it's the edition we follow on this site. It sounds like you are doing well with exercise - don't forget to take a non-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water. Check Linda's recipe site - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --

Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
