    Hi people,

    I'm new to this forum (found you on a random googlefest while i was learning more about atkins) and just wanted to say hi.

    I'm on day 9 and so far lost 7lbs, so just another 48 or so to go lol.
    Its going quite well i think although I have noticed a weakness in my muscles but i havent bought any supplements yet. Now i dont know Anything about multivits or other supplements, im a complete newbie on the subject, so my question to you guys is:

    what multi-vits or other supplements are recommended/are you all taking?

    I'm 35 and I was 199 lbs before starting Atkins.
    My goal weight I would love to get back to 144 lbs which I havent been for almost 15 years
    I hail from england and I've been a low-fat eater for years, although its never done me any good for my weight which has steadily creeped up year on year.
    So i am really enjoying being allowed to eat mayonnaise and cheese again with the Atkins diet... although I am limiting my daily cheese intake

    Looking forward to 2010 being the year i finally get thin(er)!

    You want a multi vitamin that doesn't have iron in it. I take the One A Day womens 50+ advantage. It doesnt' have iron, has all the other things you need and no you don't have to be over 50 to take it. Usually the kid and the senior vitamins are about all you'll find iron free in womens.

    I don't take any other supplements, haven't had a need for them.

      out of interest what is the problem with iron, why is that a no-no?

        As you know from your reading of the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002) [you are reading it, right?], Dr. Atkins says to take a multi-vitamin without iron, as we should get enough iron from our food.

        Too much iron can be constipating and toxic.

        However, if you have different iron needs, and your doctor has prescribed iron for you, then listen to your own physician.

          Welcome to the ADBB, Bumble! And congrats on your loss so far.

          It may take some getting used to converting from a low-fat diet to a higher fat one but you will be glad you did when you see the results.
