  • Doing this for me

    Hi!

I'm Kelly, 32yo, married with kids. I have been overweight most of my life. I've done all the diets, like so many of us had. I have had success with Atkins before. I didn't have the willpower to continue on after the induction period.

In November I had a health scare and I realized how my body was not healthy and I could easily succumb to heart disease.

This has given me a new drive to become healthy. Not to be skinny, not to look good, but to live. To reach 40 and beyond.

I will start on Monday, the 8th. I always do better starting on Mondays. I am cleaning out the house, getting all the junk out. My husband is blessed with a high metabolism and can eat everything and still lose a pound. He won't be joining me, but he is supportive.

So, hi community! Here's to success and good health.

                Re: Doing this for me

                Hi and welcome Kelly!!

Eat a variety of foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html. Make sure you eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs”. Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything in your home and you won’t be tempted to eat something not allowed. Check Linda's recipe site it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. Start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/. There’s something for everyone here!

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
