Hi everyone....I'm Kirsten. I'm very close to my goal weight, and I only have about 10 pounds to lose. I excercise about 4 or 5 hours a day (I play a lot of basketball!) The first ten pounds came off just with eating healthier and exercising...but now I have stalled at 130, and I want to get down to 120. I thought I was doing Atkins last week, and I got it all right, except I guess I missed the caffeine piece, and I was drinking a lot of coffee. I got on here today and saw what I was doing wrong, and hopefully I'll be able to get it right this time!

      Welcome, Kirsten!

With 10 lbs to lose, did you start in Induction or OWL?

I recommend you to also read Atkins for Life, in addition to the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution.

The first ten pounds came off just with eating healthier and exercising...but now I have stalled at 130, and I want to get down to 120.
I hope you are planning to make Atkins your way of eating for life and are not just using it to lose weight... because you might stall on Atkins, too.

Hi Kirsten! Way to go on being so active, that will help you to not only lose weight but to keep it off. I also dont have to much to lose right now, and know that the last few pounds never want to let go!! So dont get to frustrated if its a little slower going, just remember its cuz youre in the home stretch!!!!

          Re: newbie...

Welcome -- your body may be use to the type of exercise you are doing so mixing things up and adding some strength training or a circuit training besides basketball may help also.

I agree with Georgia, hoping you are planning to continue with Atkins as a way of eating for life, not a way to get to the end of your weight loss.

          Good luck
          Carole
