  • Very 1st diet, brand new to losing weight.

    Hi Everyone,

    My name is Laura and I have been on Atkins for exactly a week and have lost 7 lbs. This is the first time I have ever dieted. To tell the truth, I have always been naturally thin. I am 5 feet 9 inches and my weight until about 2 months ago usually stayed at 138 lbs. Because I have always been thin, I never knew a lot about dieting or carbs. I was actually unhappy with being 138 and tried like **** to lose weight by conventional methods of exercise.

    Then in the last two months, I started gaining like crazy and got up to 147, even though I was exercising! I did not understand what was going on! My husband and I had been drinking wine with dinner and dinner consisted mostly of carbs. THen I would make brownies or have Bryers ice cream. Yikes! I started researching and found Atkins. I have been blown away by the results.

    Unfortunately, I just had my last wisdom tooth removed and was put on Amoxycillin. This has been slowing the weight loss a little and I cannot wait until I'm off them.

    Hi,

    You do know that at your height 130Llbs is slightly under the recommended minnimum don't you? I know charts don't deal with "personal feelings" but just be careful you don't go to mad! but good luck and I hope you feel better when you lose the weight that you feel is wrong.

      Welcome -

      Since you have very little weight to loose make sure you move to OWL and starting adding foods back to your daily menu. Good luck.

          136 - No longer overweight (yes, I know this is lower than my goal weight)
