In my 3rd week, down almost 7 lbs. I've done Atkins before, but enjoying it more so far as I've experimented with recipes more than I did in the past.

        Re: Newbie

I am still on induction. Since I'm tolerating it well, I think I'll do it for another 2-3 weeks before moving to phase 2.

        Thanks for the well wishes!

          Re: Newbie

You don't have much weight to lose - please consider moving to OWL now. It takes at least 1 week to add each food on each rung of OWL - so if you are adding 3 foods in Rung 2, you need at least 3 weeks for that rung alone.

It gets harder the closer you get to goal to determine if a new food is causing stalling or if you aren't losing as quickly because you are near goal. Doing OWL properly will give you the best chance of maintaining your losses for life.

            Re: Newbie

Thanks JulieB. I will consider that. Although I just realized the whipped cream I was using, which really helped sustain me, has 1 gm of sugar in it. Now I'm not sure what to do. I still lost weight and stayed in ketosis, but I feel like I didn't do induction correctly. Now should I do 2 more weeks of induction, or just move forward? Rats--I really was vigilant but I missed that one!

              Re: Newbie

move forward -- you can't undo what's already been done. If you weren't kicked out of keotsis and were still loosing weight you didn't do any harm. Now you know the whipped cream is an occasional thing - not something to "sustain"....find something else to eat in place of it -- once you get away from sweets you'll find how many foods are naturally sweet tasting.

Take your time going up the Rungs so you find a variety of foods that you can eat without problems and those (like cream) that are problem foods. Good luck
