  • New to the board not the diet!

    Hello

My name is Lorna and have been doing this way of eating for about 4 months on and off.

I would like to be more committed as I have lost about 30 pounds but have about 80 more to go.

I am allergic to wheat and gluten so this way of eating suits me perfectly, my only problems is I am a bit of an emotional eater.

I have not weighed myself in the last week as it will be my TOM in 6 days so will wait until that is over. In the meantime, I will log all my food onto fitday and post it soo.

p.s. I have read the book! (DANDR 2002)

Did you try the tips Dr. Atkins gave in DANDR?

I did Georgiana, and I think my problem is I think I know how to deal with negative emotions better, but to be hones I don't.

So I am erasing all past thoughts and as of today (its evening in UK), will be trying all tips.

Welcome to ADBB Lorna ! Good job on reading the book and using fitday. Both are invaluable tools. Re: emotional eating... the 2 things I do. One.... exercise. If I get on the treadmill, do a video, lift weights, etc., it's hard to think about food when you're thinking about being tired or sore Two... when I'm still in a munchie mood when I'm done exercising (which is extremely rare) I pull out the celery sticks, cucumber slices, bell pepper slices, and a jug of water. It's really hard to eat the bad stuff when you're stuffed with veggies.

I know it's not a good thing to give into the emotional cravings, but I find that giving into it once in a while has actually slowed them down?
