    Hi everybody. Tomorrow will be my first day on Atkins. I have the book and really feel like this is something I can do. I'm a 48 year old female, 5' 9" tall and weigh 200 pounds. This is the heavyiest I have ever been. I quit smoking 6 months ago and now I'm going through menopause too. Just my luck!! I vow to have a good attitude and get this weight off of me!!! I know it won't be easy but I have got to do something. I would really like to get to 145 pounds....I'm not sure how realistic that is, but it's what I really want.

    Welcome!

    I started Atkins and menopause at the same time, too. I think doing Atkins helped with my having no symptoms of menopause.

    Good job on quitting smoking!!!

          welcome, I am new too and have similar weight loss goals! We can do this!! Looking forward to hearing how you get on.I found induction for the first few days hard only due to brain fog and felt a bit quiet if that makes sense but after the 4th day felt great and have lost 13lb! just struggling right now due to TOM lurking! Good luck!

            Just stick with the plan and you will make it and we will be here to help. Check out the forums and read the stickies because they are really helpful.

              Welcome.You can reach your desired weight with determination and by sticking to the plan correctly.All the best with reaching your goal.
