  • Hi there

New to this board, but not really new to trying to lose weight (ugh!), or to message boards. It seemed to me that by joining this site I was making myself a bit more accountable than I have been in the past. The last time I had a real accountability group in trying to lose weight was 14 years ago, and I lost about 50 pounds - right before I got pregnant with my twins!

Since I'll hit my 40th birthday this year, I made a vow to myself that I was going to be healthier in my 40's than I've been in my 30's. No specific BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goals) in terms of a certain weight by a certain date, just looking for an overall improvement of my health and feelings about myself. I'm lucky enough to have normal blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, and I want to keep it that way.

      Welcome to the board!

I think your goal of better health is a very fine goal! It isn't all about weight loss because feeling better is more important than any number on the scale.
