  • New here but not to Adkins

Hi everyone! I found this forum while searching for a rice sub for sushi. I have tried Adkins so many times but it's my fault it hasn't worked like I wanted. I have never made it to the maintenance phase. Hopefully I will do better this time I'm in my 2nd week induction and have lost about 5 lbs so far. With Valentine's Day being tomorrow, I'm trying to stick to the plan as hard as I can. We have plans for making sushi at home. Normally we use the sticky rice so I think I will try the cauliflower recipe someone gave on here.

    Welcome to the ADBB, Donna!

Let us know how the sushi turns out.

BTW, it's Atkins, not Adkins. Do you have the 2002 edition of the book? If not, there are cheap copies on Amazon and in thrift stores. You will need one to make the plan work for you.

      Welcome

In order to have success on Atkins eat foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html; eat a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs). Keep track of your food totals for the day using a program like www.fitday.com to help you do that.

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily.

Good luck to you. Many people have said the sushi with cauliflower is great - hopey ou like it.
