New here, hello.
My name is Ben and am 31 years old.
Ok, so I've lost a good 60lbs before with the "traditional" style of eating low calories/fat with the combination of exercise.
I kept up with it for several years and maintained but I pretty much fell off the wagon about 3 years ago and been gaining weight at a brisk pace since. Weighed about 170 and now weigh around 227.
I have wanted to start up the routine again but I have a slight injury to my foot which flares up really bad if I exercise on it. (I may need surgery on it)
Anyway I was talking with a co-worker who did Atkins and has been doing it since around 2003. He lost 80+ pounds and has kept it off this whole time. Recently I was telling him about wanting to lose wight again. He never knew me when I was in good shape and I never knew him when he was out of shape. He started getting into details about this diet and I got interested. I was one of those that thought "this low carb thing can't be healthy." Now I'm starting to see something in it.
Sooo.. right now I'm gathering info, gonna look into the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, figure out what exactly I need to do to get started and then I'll start. Hopefully in the next few days.
